If you enjoy an activity holiday then the Dordogne has plenty to offer with lots of sporting activities including Acrobranche tree walking, kayaking, cycling, swimming and walking.   Locally you can also find golf, horse riding and equestrian events, tennis, rugby and football.

Sports Breaks

During May, June, September and October why not take advantage of the quieter seasons and enjoy a walking or cycling holiday at Chauffour (self catering or bed and breakfast and evening meal can be provided) and see the Dordogne at its most beautiful – Spring flowers and the beautiful changing colours of Autumn.

Cycling in the Dordogne

With lots of great circuits right on the doorstep we can advise you on routes lasting from 1/2 hour up to a day’s ride to suit all levels and capabilities. There are local bike hire companies who will deliver and collect them from your cottage. Please ask for details.

France is a nation of cyclists and there are numerous opportunities for safe family riding.

Airport transfers can also be organised – please ask for availability and pricing.

The Dordogne Experience

Enjoy this beautiful part of the Dordogne with walking, running and cycling routes to suit all levels right from our doorstep. The area offers lovely rolling countryside and valleys with circular and interconnecting routes from 3kms up to 60/70kms and more.

The Camino Vézelay passes not far from Chauffour; we are ideally situated for several days walking to Brantôme, Chancelade, Périgueux, St Astier, Sourzac and Mussidan.

Stay with us and we're happy to organise dropping you off and collecting you at a designated point so you could enjoy a week of walking this ancient Périgordian route. Please enquire for further information and prices.

Golf Breaks and Tennis Breaks

We have 2 great golf courses, one is a 9 hole and the other 18 hole both within easy distance of Chauffour and can organise transport if you wish and have 2 sets of men’s clubs and 1 set of ladies for you to use.  (Green fees on request).

We have some great tennis courts nearby and can organise weekly/hourly use of the courts to suit your requirements.   We have some tennis rackets you are welcome to use. (Court fees on request).
